Glorious Garda is
one of the most important tourist resorts in Italy. It
has 70 Hotels, thousands of rooms, hundreds of
villas, shops,
bars, restaurants and pizzerias to accommodate tourists,
as well as convention halls and sports facilities. The
tourist vocation began in the early years of the 20th
century, but the actual tourist boom started in the
fifties. |

Four Castles protected the territory of Lake
Garda: The Rocca castle was the most
important one, the others were in Castei,
Castion and Marciaga. Other important
memories of the middle ages concern the
ancient gates other historical centre.
During the Venetian era,
Garda belonged to the Gardesana dell'Aqua,
which had jurisdiction over the eastern
shore of the Lake and was commanded by the
Capitano del Lago. There are memories from
the Venetian era in the Palazzo dei Capitani
in Garda and in several folk traditions,
such as the feast of St. Mark and the Bisse
competition, as well as in several recipes.
The crystal clear waters of
Lake Garda are
perfect for swimming and many popular sports
such as windsurfing and sailing. The local
climate is softened by the presence of this
large body of water, which makes it
comfortable for exploring the towns and
villages on and close to the lake towns such
as Garda, Lazise, Sirmione, Torri del Benaco,
Bardolino, Limone and Peschiera which are
wonderful places to visit with a great
choice of villas for rent hotels, B&Bs and other
accommodations or just for wandering around
the cobbled streets filled with shops,
hotels and restaurants and are home to
bustling lakeside markets.
It is no wonder that many
visitors resolve to return here again and
again. That is why you can now find
timeshare for sale
at Lake Garda. Owning a week in one of these
units secures you accommodations for your
desired time each year. The trend of resorts
selling timeshare
continues to rise, but if you are not ready to buy, you
could try renting a week too. Wherever you stay, we hope
this website helps you plan your ideal
lake Garda holiday
